Wizard of Oz Summer Camps for Pre-K thru 8th Grade Now Enrolling – Chicago & Evanston

Our performance-focused music theatre camps are educational, fun and inspiring! We believe kids can command their own audiences. The summer program focuses on developing well-rounded performers who work as a team. Just announced! In 2013, our summer programs will be based on a brand new version of the classic musical, The Wizard of Oz! Working with some of the top theatre educators in Chicagoland, students will learn and refine skills in acting, singing and movement. The camps include skill-building, rehearsing for a final performance, and social/recreational activities designed to ensure a well-rounded summer camp experience. We are pleased to offer four different grade-/ experience-levels, in Chicago and in Evanston. (Our Teen Ensemble program for Ages 13 & up will be 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee).

NEW FINANCIAL AID POLICY FOR SUMMER CAMPS 2013: Financial aid applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Beginning December 1, applications will be evaluated and award letters issued based on our available funds. We try our hardest to help every family who needs it; however, our funds are limited – so please apply as soon as possible. Hold Your Birthday Party at Our Studios – Now Booking Willy Wonka & Wizard of Oz – Themed Events!

Youth Company Chicago is pleased to offer show-themed birthday parties in our beautiful Jefferson Park studios! We provide the following:

90 minute party for up to 16 student-participants.
Space rental
Tables & chairs (including set-up)
Pizza & drinks (including paper products).
Music appropriate for age level, including songs from the show
An experienced teaching artist to lead theatre games and show-themed activities.
Activities geared toward any age level, from 4 to 13. Based on the current show being produced in our space, so we can incorporate fun costumes, sets and props from the show!

Youth Company Chicago is proud to announce the shows and programs that will make up its 2013-2014 season. Director of Artistic Learning Jerry R. Foust has promised “something for everyone” in the exciting and diverse lineup. Audiences will be able to enjoy 20-25% savings by, for the first time ever, purchasing season passes to the shows.

Youth Company Chicago is pleased to announce its summer Teen Ensemble program, “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” Now accepting teens – ages 13-18 – for this hilarious, Tony-winning show.Students with previous performance experience (in our shows or other similar programs) need not audition; those who are new to theatre should email us for a time to do a short audition (including singing some scales and doing a prepared reading) and get-to-know-you time.
