Level 3 (Grades 3-8) – St Edward

(NOTE: There is also a Level 2 program for 2nd graders and Level 1 program for 1st grade - both of which have separate enrollment - 1st & 2nd graders do not enroll here!)

Our Schoolsite Programs are exciting excursions into the performing arts!  We specialize in fully produced musical plays.  Students in our after-school program will learn basic skills in drama, music and movement, while rehearsing for the big, final showing - a public performance of the show at the school's auditorium or gym.

Program Begins:  Friday, September 11, 2015

Weekly Friday Rehearsals: Every Friday after-school 3pm-5pm. No rehearsal on Nov 27. *Please bring a snack for our break on Tuesdays*  No rehearsal on September Faculty Inservice day; however, we will have an early 11:30am-2pm rehearsal on Early Dismissal day in November.

Tech / Dress Rehearsals: These rehearsals are required as part of the program.  Please prioritize these over other activities, as the entire team needs to be present:

  • ---Monday night, January 4:  5:30pm-8:30pm. Eat before you come to rehearsal; we will take a snack break but not dinner.
  • ---Tuesday, January 5, 3pm-6:30pm. We will have snack donation sign-ups for dinner break.
  • ---Wednesday, January 6 - HOLD FOR WEATHER MAKE-UP, IF NEEDED (5:30pm-8:30pm)
  • ---Thursday, January 7, 3pm-6:30pm. We will have snack donation sign-ups for dinner break.
  • ---Friday, January 8, 3pm-5pm

Performances:  Two ticketed performances for friends, family & the school community at the Jefferson Playhouse on Saturday, January 9.  Tentative times for the performances:  3pm & 5pm.  If we double-cast the show, the show times will be adjusted to fit the shows and rehearsal time in.

Location:  Program meets in the St Edward Gymnasium, with performances on the stage

Tuition: $189. A deposit of $50 will hold your reservation in this program.  The remainder of the tuition will be billed 10 days before the start of the program, on September 1, to the card you store when you pay your deposit.  If you wish to pay the balance (or any portion of it) earlier than the due date, you may do so anytime after you enroll by logging in and entering your payment information at any time. There will no longer be a $3 fee charged for each enrollment.

ABOUT "SHREK THE MUSICAL":The perfect kick off to our 2015-16 Season of "Dreams & Fairy Tales"!  It's a big, bright, beautiful world for everyone's favorite ogre in Shrek the Musical, based on the Oscar-winning animated film.  In a faraway kingdom, the green ogre Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits, runaways who've been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wise-cracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task: If he rescues feisty Princess Fiona from the Dragon-guarded tower, his swamp will be returned to him. But, a fairy tale wouldn't be complete without unexpected twists and turns along the way.  Shrek is an irreverently fun show for the whole family. A great story, amazing musical score, and abundant opportunities for young actors - both boys & girls - to play colorful characters.
