Introducing the Jefferson Playhouse – Our New Performance Home! Add Your Family’s Name to the Permanent ‘Wall of Gratitude’ by Donating
This little company that started with 7 students in a bare storefront has grown to a bustling professional theatre and school – now serving over 550 students of all ages, and performing for thousands and thousands of audience members every year. In Fall, our company name officially changed to Windy City Music Theatre, setting us up for an exciting period of growth. As part of our ‘next chapter,’ we will be expanding to a third space to accommodate more performers and more audience members. The historic Jefferson Theatre is a 1914 movie theatre, located just 1/2 block from our current space.
We have already begun work on the space, and plan to open it as the new “Jefferson Playhouse – Home of Windy City Music Theatre” in the Spring. The new space will include a bigger stage, an actual dressing room space, bigger public restrooms, and raised seating for 80 patrons.
We’re committed to keeping tuition rates static in the next year, and to maintaining a very generous level of financial aid for families who need it (we give away 30-40% of our total tuition budget to families who need assistance every semester), so we are counting on our supporters to help us raise $10,000 to make this space a new reality.

- Name listed in the playbill for our Mainstage productions in 2015 and 2016
- Invitation to our Mainstage productions Opening Night cast meet & greet and champagne toast (after the show). The first one will be April 18, after performances of “Cinderella”
